MAISON50 offers luxurious retail and studio suites within our artisan ‘liberty’ style space in Crickhowell. Each retail and studio space is styled individually offering a choice of simple, yet sophisticated, contemporary accommodation; all our spaces are flexible and is also retail space! – a simple Continental style breakfast is included for a relaxing morning.
Our building’s room names reflect the lush Welsh area in which we are based, just on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons National Park, but also close to Abergavenny and an easy commute to some of the major cities in South/East Wales.

The MAISON50 building at 50 High Street, Crickhowell was purchased from the Glanusk Estate many years ago, and was a Lloyds Bank until we took it into our care. The building has been completely renovated and restored with both modern eco building and traditional craft methods such as lime plaster where appropriate. We have up-cycled existing materials where possible and retained original features and finishes such as five original fireplaces, beautiful wide original floorboards, beams and reclaimed stone & brick walls. Quirky vintage furniture makes MAISON50 the epitome of contemporary chic.
MAISON50 sits in the hub of Crickhowell’s fabulous high street – which boasts a mixture of independent shops, coffee houses, pubs, butchers and delicatessens.
MAISON50 is ideally located within Crickhowell, a town within the Usk Valley, settled on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The name is taken from a nearby Iron Age Fort which was named Crug Hywel, and within the town there is a historic bridge dating back to the 17th Century, a 14th Century church and ruins of Crickhowell Castle which is set just off the A40 towards Abergavenny.
Due to the excellent location, visitors come to the area for a huge array of activities; the Green Man Festival which is held at Glanusk Park and as a base to enjoy the great outdoors – hiking, mountain biking, climbing, dog walking and fishing – and to enjoy the beautiful Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. The diverse landscape and links to major towns and cities means you can truly explore and enjoy countless pleasures from Crickhowell.
We offer a fantastic location to explore, perform some retail therapy, enjoy fantastic food, artisan coffee and craft beers – or for simply having a wonderful getaway and chillax.
